What is shipping mode and when should I use it?
Answer
We strongly advise that any Live Pen 2 devices that are to be left for a prolonged period of non-use (e.g. storage), are placed in their ‘shipping’ mode via the penDirector 'Pen settings' screen. 'Shipment mode' prolongs the need to charge the device for up to 6 months and thereby prevents any potential damage to the battery, caused through over-discharge. The pen will exit 'Shipment mode' once it is charged again.
Note: The need to protect the battery from over-discharge is inherent with all lithium polymer batteries in order to maintain their correct working behaviour and is not limited to its use within the Live Pen 2.
