Question

1. COM port number is assigned automaticaly when pen connect to the PC via USB. Is the behavior by  design?

2. Is it possible to assign COM port number of own choice?
(A specific COM port should be reserved for a peripheral.)

3. Is it possible to use the same (previously used) COM port for the new cradle in the case of replacement?

Answer
Port number is fully controlled by Windows. It seems that if some COM port is assigned for a pen it is reused next time the pen connects, independently of the USB physical port.
We don't know the way to control COM port number from Windows user space.
